The Baba Joe Group of companies is an established group of African mining companies, with an extensive portfolio of diamond and gold assets on the continent of Africa. We also have assets in the decarbonisation and battery metals spectrum. This includes large scale Copper and Lithium concessions.
Our diamond mines are situated in countries which are members of the Kimberley Process. All our production is tracked and traced and therefore guaranteed to be Non Conflict.

Conservation
Nature Conservation is a key ingredient of our corporate DNA. Our conservation efforts focus on pristine nature conservancy areas on the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast and other areas in Southern Africa. The Natural habitats where we work have unparalleled beauty and natural diversity. However, the nature reserves, surrounding areas and communities lack finance, and are under siege from companies seeking to establish large scale mining operations in the areas.
Alternative development models can protect these beautiful eco-systems, and also generate income to sustain these beautiful habitats.

Cutting Factory
The expertise to cut and polish diamonds is developed over several generations. It takes many years of experience for a diamond cutter to be given the responsibility of cutting and polishing valuable diamonds. At our cutting and polishing facilities, we have two generations of expert cutters who produce only the best cut and polished diamonds.
Using lasers to cut diamonds began in the early 1970’s.
From the mine to the finger, the Baba Joe Group will provide our clients with the best diamonds at every stage.
Diamonds and Blockchain Technology
Tracking from Mine to Market
Due to their unique characteristics, diamonds are well suited to blockchain technology. Polished diamonds can be linked back to their original rough diamonds, and therefore the mine from which they originate. When mined, each diamond can be given a unique digital finger print. Our cutting and polishing factory keeps a record of each diamond as it passes through each stage of production. Every polished diamond can therefore be referenced back to the original rough diamond at all stages, from mine to market.
