Baba Joe Diamond Ventures (Pty) Ltd in conjunction with the local community and a team from Holland, is developing a high tech Agricultural Innovation Hub and low impact eco tourism resort that will help preserve the pristine coastline in this highly sensitive ecological jewel.

The surrounding and opposite shoreline to the eco tourism resort is protected from further development by its designation as the uMlalazi Nature Reserve. Additionally, the tourist town of Mtunzini lies across the river offering the many amenities a small town does. These surrounding land use features ensure that the site provides a quiet and pristine environment, while maintaining a natural integrity attractive to eco lodge visitors. The uMlalazi Nature Reserve and dune forest supports many bird species and the lagoon and river mouth offer sanctuary to many species of fish. The climate in this picturesque area is sunny all year round with mild winters. Beach and river activities are possible all year round.
